This edition is built around three key principles: accessibility, inclusivity, and representativeness.
This 2026 World Cup is taking place as part of the competitive circuit established by the MRDA.
The Men's Roller Derby Association is a global, non-profit network of over 40 open gender roller derby teams. Operating across North America, Latin America, Europe, and South America, their goal is to foster community, inclusion, camaraderie, and competition for all through roller derby.
Roller Derby is a contact sport played on quad skates (non-inline skates) on an oblong track. The goal of the game is for one of the players to successfully overtake the opposing players within a given time frame without being knocked to the ground or leaving the track.
The game takes place on an oval track measuring 30 m by 16 m. A match consists of two 30-minute halves. A half is divided into sub-periods, called jams, lasting a maximum of 2 minutes; between two jams, there is a 30-second period during which teams are allowed to change the players sent onto the court. In total, a team can have up to 15 players on a score sheet.
